Written answers

If it appears to a planning authority that it is expedient, in the interests of amenity or the environment, to make provision for the preservation of any tree, trees, group of trees or woodlands, it may make an order under section 205 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 in accordance with the procedures set down in section 205. Any person who is seeking the making of a tree preservation order should apply to the planning authority for the area. My Department has no function in relation to the making of a tree preservation order.
