Questions (332)

Dan Boyle

Question:

332 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government his views on whether availability through his Department of official election returns for local Government elections from 1967 only represents a serious gap in data necessary for academic research; and the measures he intends to put in place to collect the results of local elections held here before 1967; and if such information will be made publicly available. Written answers

Local election results volumes, including data on vote transfers, have been compiled by my Department from 1974 onwards. Local authorities should have available the results of elections since 1922 to which researchers may seek access.
