742 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children his plans to have multiple sclerosis added to the list of long-term illnesses in order that sufferers are automatically entitled to a medical card each year. [21342/04]
View answerPersons suffering from multiple sclerosis, who are not already medical card holders, may obtain without charge drugs and medicines for the treatment of that condition under the long term illness scheme. At present no group in society, other than persons aged 70 years and over, is automatically entitled to a medical card.
