188 Mr. Cuffe asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he has studied the dual electronic and manual voting systems used recently in Venezuela; and if he intends to introduce a similar system on a pilot basis in the forthcoming by-elections. [24783/04]
View answerI refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 53, 70 and 74 of 30 September 2004. As stated in that reply, regard will continue to be had in the ongoing work on electronic voting and counting to further experiences internationally in the use of such solutions and their applicability or otherwise to electoral arrangements in Ireland.
