263 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government when a disabled persons grant application with the SWAHB will be processed in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who applied for same over 18 months ago; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department's involvement in the disabled grants scheme relates primarily to the recoupment of a proportion of local authority expenditure on the payment of individual grants. The administration of the scheme and decisions on individual applications are the responsibility of the appropriate local authority, in this instance Kildare County Council, with which queries on particular cases may be taken up.
