View answerAt the Abridged Estimates Volume, AEV, Conference last week, I stated that, as of then, my Department was anticipating an Exchequer borrowing requirement of about €0.7 billion compared to a budget day forecast of €2.8 billion for 2004. The difference was mainly due to about €2 billion extra in tax receipts and some savings on expenditure. There is still a lot of tax to come in so such estimates are always subject to change and up-dating.
