111 Dr. Cowley asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has been waiting since 1 June 2004 for an appointment from the Western Health Board for a cataract operation and could not be seen in Belmullet or Ballina; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The provision of hospital services for people living in County Mayo is a matter for the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy.
