479 Ms Enright asked the Minister for Education and Science the person who is responsible for the employment of caretakers in schools built under public private partnerships; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [31309/04]

Where facilities management forms part of a public private partnership, the responsibility for the operation of the asset, including any caretaking staff, lies with the operator. In my Department's first grouped schools PPP project the caretaking staff are now employed by the operator Jarvis.
