30 Mr. Coveney asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the steps being taken to transfer the acute psychiatric unit to Wexford General Hospital, in view of the recommendations that acute psychiatric units should be in general hospitals; and if she will make a statement on the matter. A brief on the redevelopment of Wexford General Hospital, including the provision of a new acute psychiatric unit, has been submitted to the Department of Health and Children. The Department is considering this brief.
