88 Mr. Ring asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the reason transport was not provided to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo by the Western Health Board to attend a hospital appointment; and the way in which this person is expected to attend hospital appointments with no public transport available. The provision of hospital services for people living in County Mayo is a matter for the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy.
