188 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the levels of investment and employment through Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland sanctioned and operable for each of the years 2000 to 2004 inclusive for Waterford city and county and Kilkenny city and county; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Support for job creation and investment in individual counties is a day-to-day operational matter for the development agencies as part of their responsibility under the Industrial Development Acts. While I may give general policy directives to the agencies, I am precluded under the Acts from giving directives about individual undertakings or giving preference to one area over others. The agencies have informed me that data on job creation is compiled from the annual Forfás employment survey and that county data for 2004 will not be available until mid-2005.
