101 Ms Lynch asked the Minister for Transport if there are plans to develop a railway station for Ballyfermot; his views on whether there is demand for such a direct rail service in the immediate area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4788/05]
View answerIarnród Éireann informs me that there is already an operating railway station at Cherry Orchard on the Dublin-Kildare railway line. The company is considering re-locating this station in the context of the Kildare route project. While Iarnród Éireann submitted a business case in relation to this project recently, I understand that revised proposals on certain aspects of the project will be submitted to my Department shortly.
