View answerThe appointment of authorised testers for the purposes of compulsory testing of commercial vehicles is a matter for local authorities in accordance with the European Communities (Vehicle Testing) Regulations 2004. Under these regulations, it is a requirement for appointment as an authorised tester that the applicant is in a position to carry out testing on all classes of vehicles liable to testing under the regulations.
