View answerThe east Waterford water supply scheme, stage two, phase two, has been approved for construction as part of my Department's water services investment programme for 2004 to 2006, at an estimated cost of €20.25 million. The scheme includes a new source of water from the River Mahon and a pumping station and rising mains to the Ballyshunnock impoundment.
Waterford County Council's reports on tenders for the civil, mechanical and electrical works related to this element of the scheme are under examination in my Department and will be dealt with as quickly as possible.
