71 Mr. Gogarty asked the Minister for Transport if his Department has received information on the proposed traffic management measures due to be put in place during the first phase of the upgrade of the M50; and if the road works will have an adverse effect on congestion during that period. The planning, design and implementation of national road improvement projects, including related traffic management arrangements as part of these projects, are matters for the National Roads Authority, NRA, the local authorities concerned and the relevant contractors. I understand from the NRA that the maximum possible maintenance of traffic flow will be an important part of the contract for the construction of the scheme.
