241 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the funding allocated by his Department for co-operation on rural development with Northern Ireland. [16556/05]
View answerI take it the Deputy is inquiring about funding of such programmes under the aegis of my Department, in conjunction, where appropriate, with Northern Ireland departments. Under the INTERREG III Ireland-Northern Ireland Programme 2000-2006, funding of €14 million is being provided for rural development measures over the period of the programme. Funding of €5.7 million is also being provided for such measures under the PEACE II Programme 2000-2004. These amounts comprise both EU and national contributions. In addition, specific allocations totalling €1.937 million have been put in place to date for cross-Border rural development projects under Leader+ and the area-based rural development initiative.
