340 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Education and Science if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 11, on completion of their leaving certificate examination in 2007, will be entitled to avail of the free fees arrangement during the course of their third level education; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The main conditions of my Department's free fees initiative are that students must be first-time undergraduates, hold EU nationality or official refugee status and have been ordinarily resident in an EU member state for at least three of the five years preceding their entry to an approved third level course. A student meeting these requirements is eligible to be considered under the free fees initiative.
