258 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government his views on the fact that a person who has been a tenant and is now the owner of a council house for over 30 years has been informed that the Council will not give consent to sell a house; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has no function in the application in individual cases of section 90(12)(a) of the Housing Act 1966, which sets out the grounds on which a housing authority may refuse to consent to the re-sale of tenant purchase local authority dwellings.
