Questions (242)

Fergus O'Dowd

Question:

215 Mr. O’Dowd asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if the HSE, formerly known as the regional health boards has, on a county basis since the year 2000, ever refused an application for a nursing home subvention on the basis that the applicant who is seeking the subvention was fully qualified in every respect but that the health board had insufficient funds to meet the cost of the subvention due to budgetary constraints; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, the Department has requested the parliamentary affairs division of the executive to arrange to have these matters investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
