269 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if his attention has been drawn to the likely negative impact on the economy of electricity or gas price increases; if he is further aware that such price increases are likely to be passed on to the consumer; if he has a strategy in response; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have no function in regard to the regulation of electricity and gas charges. This is a matter that falls within the statutory responsibility of the Commission for Energy Regulation.
