McGrath asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of gardaí who received overtime during 2004 as a percentage of all serving gardaí; the average payment awarded to gardaí; the top 20 amounts of overtime paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerI have been informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the detailed allocation of resources, including personnel, that the number of gardaí who received overtime during 2004 as a percentage of all serving gardaí was 96%, the average overtime payment was €6,670 in 2004 and the top 20 amounts paid in overtime were as follows:
