Question:

1513 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he intends to issue regulations under the Local Government Act 2001 to allow, by order, the establishment of new town councils; and if there is resistance to the provision of new town councils from local government officials. I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 649 and 653 of 15 November 2005. I am not aware of any stance on this issue on the part of local government officials.
