Pat Rabbitte

Question:

167 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Taoiseach if, in view of his commitment in a letter of 2 November 2005 to this Deputy that he would be happy to meet with a person from Northern Ireland whose son was murdered by loyalist paramilitaries, arrangements have been made for the meeting; if not, if he will set a date for the meeting; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Following the commitment made in my letter of 3 November 2005, officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs met the person in question on 16 November 2005. Since then, arrangements have been made for officials from my Department to meet that person. That meeting is scheduled to take place shortly. As I stated in my letter of 3 November, I would be happy to meet with the person in question at a future date.
