173 Dr. Upton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children her plans to investigate the possibility of a cluster regarding the three cases of vCJD diagnosed in one area; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4609/06]
View answerMy Department has sought a detailed report on this issue from the Health Service Executive. This report has not yet been received. When it is received, it will be referred to the CJD advisory group for consideration and advice on any policy implications. At this stage in its investigations the HSE is confident that it can see no basis for the suggestion that there may be a cluster of such cases.
