View answerThe applicant in question applied for permission to remain in Ireland on the basis of being the parent of an Irish-born child, born before 1 January 2005, under the revised arrangements announced by me on 15 January 2005. His application is currently being reviewed and I will notify the Deputy when the outcome of the review is known.

View answerIn view of the individual circumstances of this case, I have asked that the request for permission to remain be examined afresh. The immigration division of my Department will be in contact with the individual concerned in due course.
