198 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the action that is being taken to investigate the malpractices and underpayment of wages to workers on the Spencer Dock site in Dublin 1; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12451/06]
View answerThe labour inspectorate of the Department is responsible for monitoring certain employment conditions for all categories of workers in Ireland. The inspectorate has commenced enquiries with the main contractor concerned and is actively pursuing the case. Inspectors will be focused on trying to secure appropriate redress for the people concerned once the facts are satisfactorily established.
