Breen asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the exact terms of reference of the independent consultative committee to review acute hospitals in the mid-west region; if this committee’s remit will not merely be a duplication of the report of the national task force on medical staffing; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The review of acute hospital services in the mid-west region is the responsibility of the Health Service Executive. Accordingly, my Department has requested the parliamentary affairs division of the executive to arrange to reply directly to the Deputy on the issues raised.
