79 Ms Enright asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if her attention has been drawn to the urgent need for a women’s refuge in County Laois as these women and their families must travel to Kilkenny and Carlow, taking them far away from their doctors and schools; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The provision of all emergency housing, including refuges for victims of domestic violence, is a matter for my colleague the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Deputy Roche. Once built, the servicing of a refuge for women who are victims of domestic violence is a matter for the HSE.
