133 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources further to the purchase of a site in Cavan Town for the decentralisation of his Department, the amount the site cost; the amount the current Department headquarters expect to be sold for; the number of staff members who have signed up to move to Cavan; the number of senior staff members who have agreed to move to Cavan; when he expects to finalise the move; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The property element of the Government's Decentralisation Programme, including the acquisition of sites and associated costs and the disposal of State property is a matter for the Office of Public Works (OPW). I have no function in this matter.

Twenty-seven staff members have formally signed up to decentralise to Cavan. Of that number, five are of senior rank (Assistant Principal and above).
