View answerThe following table sets out the Exchequer Income tax receipts and the corresponding year-on-year growth rates for the period to end-May for each of the years from 2000 onwards.

Income tax receipts to end-May 2006 are just 1.2 per cent below target. The Budget day target for Income tax in 2006 is for an increase of 4.8 per cent over the 2005 outturn.
