Questions (285)

Pat Breen

Question:

283 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if he plans to draft legislation regarding telecommunications masts in accordance with the recommendations of the Joint Committee on Communications, Marine and Natural Resources in May 2005 that planning guidelines and planning exemptions be examined in order that no masts giving off radiation would be permitted near such places as health centres, schools, playgrounds, pitches and so on and the Committee’s observation that the planning process for the erection of masts would not appear to be open and transparent; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
