301 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the expenditure proposed by him for 2006 and 2007 on the development of piers and slipways in County Mayo; the locations and piers involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27953/06]
View answerUnder the Department's Fishery Harbours Development Programme for 2006 funding has been allocated to Mayo County Council for the projects listed below. Two of the projects are being co-funded with the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs and this Department under the CLÁR scheme. This scheme is to facilitate minor repairs and safety works on small piers, and slipways in CLÁR areas, including Gaeltacht areas and islands. The balance of the funding is being provided by Mayo County Council. The question of providing funding for projects in county Mayo in 2007 will be considered in the context of the amount of Exchequer funding available for works at fishery harbours generally and overall national priorities.
