1324 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Education and Science if the drivers of all school buses, including those in service prior to the enactment of the legislation, have been put through the Garda vetting system; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [29102/06]

Bus Éireann has informed my Department it is envisaged that formal vetting procedures will come on stream later this year for new school bus drivers and at a later stage for all existing drivers, including Bus Éireann, contractor and taxi drivers engaged under the school transport scheme.
