1525 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the cost to his Department of the storage of the e-voting machines in Kildare for each of the past three years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29404/06]

Information provided by the Returning Officer for the Kildare constituencies indicates that storage costs in respect of the electronic voting machines and ancillary equipment are: €30,724 (2003/4); €31,616 (2004/5); and €31,934 (2005/6 estimate). Payments to Returning Officers in respect of their electoral duties are made by the Department of Finance from the Central Fund.
