169 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there are currently no specific regulations regarding the installation of fire doors in houses that have been altered to suit people with disabilities by putting in lifts; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The question of requiring the installation of fire doors in existing houses adapted by the installation of lifts, in order to meet the needs of people with disabilities, will be considered in the context of the next review of Part B (Fire Safety) of the Building Regulations.
