Paul Connaughton

Question:

141 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a 10% penalty was imposed on a person (details supplied) in County Galway; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the person in question has restored old farm machinery for many years and that was the reason such machinery was in their yard at that point in time; and if she will make a statement on the matter. A penalty was notified in this case because the REPS undertakings in respect of the farmyard had not been complied with.

I am aware that the person named has appealed the decision to the Agriculture Appeals Office. I understand that an oral hearing has taken place and that a decision will issue shortly.
