409 Mr. Morgan asked the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the percentage of jobs in County Donegal at present which are in the construction sector; and the percentage which are in the service sector. [32804/06]
View answerI am informed by the Central Statistics Office that the exact information as requested by the Deputy is not available. Statistics on employment and unemployment are compiled, at a regional level, from the Quarterly National Household Survey. There are eight regions in the State; Border, Midland, West, Dublin, Mid-East, Mid-West, South-East and South-West. Sub-regional statistics, of the kind requested by the Deputy, are not available from the Quarterly National Household Survey. The following information obtained from the Central Statistics Office shows the percentages of persons employed in the Border Region in different employment sectors for the second quarter of 2006 and I trust that this will be of assistance to the Deputy.
