502 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Transport the timetable for the construction of the western rail corridor from Ennis to Athenry and from Athenry to Claremorris; his views on the ESRI report which calls for a new evaluation on infrastructural transport projects; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer the Deputy to my answer to Question No. 244 of 28th September which sets out the timetable for this project.

All projects within Transport 21 are being, and will be, evaluated in accordance with the Department of Finance's Guidelines for the Appraisal and Management of Capital Expenditure Proposals in the Public Sector.
