View answerThe Criminal Law (Trafficking in Persons and Sexual Offences) Bill 2006 which has been approved by Government and is currently being drafted in the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel provides the necessary legislative changes that will allow for the ratification by Ireland of the Optional Protocol to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography.
