View answerThe Youth Affairs Section of my Department provides support for a number of schemes and initiatives designed to ensure the provision of non-formal educational opportunities for young people throughout the country. This consists mainly of grant-aid assistance for national and major regional youth organisations under the Youth Service Grant Scheme, special projects for disadvantaged young people under the Special Projects for Youth Scheme and the Young People's Facilities and Services Fund which targets those young people at risk from substance misuse.
I understand that an application for funding has not been received on behalf of the organisation referred to by the Deputy under any of these schemes. I am arranging for further information on the schemes and programmes administered by Youth Affairs Section to be forwarded separately to the Deputy.
