122 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government further to the fact that the local authorities of Fingal, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown and Wicklow have agreed local area plans which would require 60% reductions in CO2 emissions, his views on whether it is time that his Department produced regulations that would require all local authorities to set such targets for local area plans; and if he will make a statement on the matter. It is not proposed at present to make it mandatory for local authorities to set targets in local area plans for reductions in CO2 emissions.
