763 Deputy Paul Connaughton asked the Minister for Education and Science the stage the proposed building of the new school at Aughim, Ballinasloe, County Galway is at; if her attention has been drawn to the poor state of the school, that the teachers and pupils operate in a very poor environment not conducive to learning, and that there is a very suitable site available for the new school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Department recently visited this school and following on from this visit, the Patron has confirmed the availability of additional lands for a school building project. This project is being considered in the context of the School Building and Modernisation Programme.
