202 Deputy Olivia Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if, in view of the fact that the legal changes required to give an eligibility to children in all schools both public and private access to dental services from the State, commenced on 1 May 2007; the timescale for the roll out of the scheme to children attending private schools; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerOperational responsibility for the management and delivery of health and personal social services was assigned to the Health Service Executive (HSE) under the Health Act 2004 and funding for all health services has been provided as part of its overall vote. The HSE's responsibility includes the provision of dental treatment for children. Therefore, the Executive is the appropriate body to consider the question raised by the Deputy. Accordingly, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have the matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
203 Deputy Jack Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of facilities, that is, access centres available within the Health Service Executive for parents to meet with their children where court proceedings have determined that either parent in a separation agreement has access to their children; if no such facilities are available if she will provide such given the grave concern being expressed by support groups that the lack of such facilities is a danger to the children; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerUnder the Health Act 2004, the provision of health and personal social services is the responsibility of the Health Service Executive. Therefore, the Deputy's question has been forwarded to the HSE and I have requested that they reply to the Deputy directly.
