176 Deputy Fergus O’Dowd asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Finance if his Department receives a daily summary of stories relevant to his Department from Government Information Services; if this summary is in written, verbal or electronic format; if these are furnished to a departmental press officer or press adviser; and if the press officer or adviser furnishes this information to him every day or how often it is furnished. The press office receives electronic communications from the Communications Unit, Department of the Taoiseach which sets out the headlines from daily print media and radio programmes. The Department's press office only brings media headlines and reports to Management's attention and/or my attention if it is appropriate to do so.
