778 Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the funding provided by her Department towards the school building programme in each of the past three years to date in 2007; her expected expenditure under this heading in the 2007/2008 school year; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The annual allocations under the School Building and Modernisation Programme are set out on a financial year basis rather than on the school year. The outturn for the years 2004 to 2006 was as follows:

2004 — €333m.

2005 — €501m.

2006 — €494m.

The outturn for 2007 will be in excess of €540m.
