858 Deputy Michael Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when an application for residency will be completed for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and when the passport of the applicant will be returned to them for renewal purposes. [33497/07]
View answerI wish to inform the Deputy that the passport concerned has been located and is being returned to the person concerned by registered post. The person made an incomplete application for permission to remain in the State under the IBC/05 Scheme. Despite two reminders, the applicant failed to submit the documentation needed to complete the process and her application was formally refused on 18 November 2005. My Department is currently awaiting the outcome of an appeal to the Supreme Court regarding matters related to the IBC/05 Scheme. No further consideration can be given to the person's application until the Judgement of the Court has been received.
