922 Deputy Damien English asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the steps he has taken to offset the carbon dioxide emissions caused by ministerial travel in his Department; and if none to date, the plans he will put in place on the matter. [34271/07]
View answerI can inform the Deputy that my Department has not incurred any expenditure in respect of carbon offsetting. I understand that, on foot of a commitment in the Programme for Government on carbon offsetting official air travel, the Minister for Environment, Heritage and Local Government is developing a scheme for use by all Government Departments and bodies under their aegis and that he hopes to announce details of this scheme shortly.
