View answerAs a rule, my Department collects information from schools in relation to their enrolments rather than in relation to the number of places available. Enrolment data is available on www.education.ie Through its forward planning processes which involves, among other things, close and regular contacts with local authorities in relation to the extent, rate and pace of housing developments, the Department continuously monitors the availability of school places throughout the country to ensure that all eligible pupils will have a place.
