View answerSt. John's Wort for oral use is subject to prescription control under the Medicinal Products (Prescription and Control of Supply) Regulations. There is an exemption for the topical formulation which permits such products to be sold in pharmacies without a prescription. The Irish Medicines Board (IMB) has received no licence applications for St John's Wort and there are no products authorized by the IMB.
