View answerDecisions in relation to the disposal of land owned by CIE, whether by agreement or arising from compulsory purchase orders, are a matter for the CIE Board and I have no function in relation thereto. The making and determination of compulsory purchase orders by local authorities is a matter, respectively, for local authorities and An Bord Pleanála.
I have no plans to issue a direction to CIE or Iarnród Éireann in relation to the compulsory acquisition of land by local authorities.
